“Hi, I just wanted to let you know that a girl was almost kidnapped outside of the Rite Aid on Pond Street,” one woman said in her phone call.

After hearing the reports, LevittownNow.com staff immediately put a request for information out to Bristol Borough police.
By 1 p.m. there was more information.
Borough Chief of Police Arnold Porter said the attempted kidnapping rumor was false. He did say that police did take a report of a suspicious person, which was relayed by a pre-teen girl.

The girl was walking outside of the Selecto Supermarket on Pond Street late Wednesday afternoon when she saw a man in a car that she believed was looking at her. A few minutes later at the Rite Aid, the girl saw the same man park, enter the store and walk around once before leaving, police said.
Porter said the man did not make physical or verbal contact with the girl. He added that there was no indication that there was any criminal intent.

The chief said officers have a description of the man’s vehicle and will continue their patrols of the area.
