The Bristol Township School District Foundation for Educational Excellence announced recently announced a massive funding effort totaling $14,802 over 27 proposals.
The total number of grants, secured by traditional and additional means, numbers at 32, with a total of $16,302. The contributions range from $100 to $1,900, “and will be used to facilitate a wide variety of projects for the students at nine of the district’s schools,” said a release put out by the foundation.

According to a release put out by the foundation, programs include an “Embyrology program for 4th graders at Maple Shade Elementary School, a Poetry and Creative Writing Club for 7th graders at FDR Middle School, a Biotechnology program for 11th and 12th graders at Truman High School, Kindergarten Orientation packets at James Buchanon and Emerson Elementary schools, an Artistic Mural Club for 7th and 8th graders at Neil Armstrong Middle School, and many more.”
The Foundation for Educational Excellence has been in existence for roughly 25 years and is made up by volunteers of current and retired Bristol Township School District employees, according to information released by the foundation.
According to the foundation, since its inception, the foundation has awarded over $300,000 towards projects to benefit the district. Revanue for the foundation comes from a variety of sources, including school district employee payroll contributions, making up around two thirds of the revenue for the non profit, said a press release from the foundation.

Other sources of revenue, according to the foundation, include donations and regular fundraisers such as the annual Tiger Classic Race and Fun Run, which took place on Oct. 12.
