Bristol Borough officials said a man was seriously injured when a portion of a under-renovation building collapsed Wednesday morning.

The second-floor wall and window of the fire-damaged building at the corner of Radcliffe and Mulberry streets collapsed around 10 a.m. A man, bystanders identified as someone renovating the building, fell onto the Mulberry Street sidewalk with a pile of debris.
Officials said the injured man was taken to Lower Bucks Hospital. A medical helicopter was then called to transport the man to a Philadelphia medical center. His condition was not released as of 12:35 p.m.
The former apartment building has been vacant since a multi-alarm fire four years ago. Plans to renovate the building were recently submitted to the borough and the structure was inspected, Borough Manager James Dillon said.

Due to the condition of the building, the building will likely have to be taken down either later Wednesday or Thursday, Dillon said.
At least one neighboring home was evacuated, emergency officials said.

Tracy Miller, an architect who worked on the project, said the building was deem sound during an inspection recently. She added the building, which uses the addresses 301 and 303 Radcliffe Street, was set to be turned into two single-family units.
Neighbors said work had recently begun to renovate the building. Miller told LevittownNow.com she was not aware that work had begun on the project.
Property records filed with Bucks County show the building is owned by two men who list a a Newtown Square address. A permit was recently filed so crews could begin work on the structure.

Fire police are expected to keep the intersection where the building sits closed throughout the evening and possibly into tomorrow.
