On Monday, July 28, 2014, Roger Collins joined the County of Bucks as director of housing and community development. Mr. Collins comes to county government following 12 years as executive director of the Bucks County Opportunity Council. Previously, Mr. Collins worked in Fortune 500 company management positions.

In his role with the Opportunity Council, Mr. Collins spearheaded a partnership network of more than 70 organizations to foster self-sufficiency, assist residents with job training to earn a living wage, and mentor those faced with housing eviction.
Mr. Collins’ extensive list of community activities has included service as a member of The Intelligencer newspaper editorial board, with the Bucks County Homeless Continuum of Care, the Community Action Association of Pennsylvania and the President’s Council for Delaware Valley College. He has also been active with the county’s multiple chambers of commerce.

A leader in the field of workforce development and training, Mr. Collins also was a key member of the former Commissioners’ Economic Development Advisory Board (EDAB) and served as a volunteer board member for the Bucks County Workforce Investment Board (WIB).
His starting annual salary will be $81,600.
