Middletown is holding their annual parade on Friday and Visit Bucks County gives us a round up of what else is happening:
- There’s no better way to celebrate the birth of our nation than at Fonthill Castle’s Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration in Doylestown. Perfect for families, this community tradition invites both locals and visitors to explore the grounds of Henry Mercer’s estate while taking part in watermelon-eating contests, sack races and other old-fashioned games, delicious food, live music and more. Participate in the Children’s Decorated Bike Parade, win great prizes during a cakewalk, and enjoy patriotic tunes from local performers from noon to 4 p.m.
- All your favorite Sesame Street friends are celebrating Independence Day with a Fourth of July BBQ and Fireworks Display at Sesame Place. After a day of fun on rides and water slides in the park, the whole family can enjoy tasty BBQ dishes in Big Bird’s Riverside Pavilion followed by a spectacular fireworks display set to the tune of popular Sesame Street songs.
- The Annual Southampton Days beginning today culminates on July 4 with an exciting Independence Day Parade beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Firstrust Bank. After the parade, head to Tamanend Park for an afternoon full of amusement rides and games. Enjoy live musical entertainment, delicious fair food followed by a patriotic fireworks display at 9:35 p.m.
- Come out for a day of fun at Memorial Park in Quakertown this Independence Day. Browse the classic automobiles at the Annual Quakertown Community Day Antique Car Show or be a kid again at the variety of children’s games and activities. Guests can enjoy live music and entertainment, plenty of food and watch a dazzling fireworks display.
- Join the locals in Newtown for the Annual First Fourth Celebration happening at Newtown Middle School on Saturday, July 5. Plenty of food and craft vendors, activities and live entertainment, including a Colonial-era Encampment, will welcome visitors to the Independence Day celebration beginning at 5 p.m. Climb and bounce on inflatable attractions and be sure to stay past dusk for the beautiful Independence Day fireworks display.
- The celebration continues all weekend long with the 42nd Annual Pennridge Community Day taking place in Perkasie on Sunday, July 6 beginning at noon. With carnival rides, live entertainment, food vendors, games and even canoe races, there is plenty of fun for the whole family at this event. A brilliant fireworks display will bring the celebration to a close after dusk.
- Get back to our state’s roots with a tour of historic Pennsbury Manor this Independence Day. The site will be open for tours of Pennsylvania Founder William Penn’s 17th century mansion as well as the grounds of the 43-acre plantation. Visit the different outbuildings on the estate, walk through the gardens or enjoy a picnic lunch beside the rushing Delaware River.
- Lace up your sneakers and head to the site where General George Washington crossed the Delaware River on Christmas Night in 1776 for the 34th Annual Revolutionary Run at Washington Crossing Historic Park. This mostly flat road race is a great way to admire the scenery of the park during either a 1 mile, a 5k or a 10k run.
