Lights in the sky surrounding a military jet last week worried several area residents.
Several people contacted LevittownNow.com the night of Sunday, March 16 and asked what the lights were, some surmised UFOs. The military said a week later they were fighter jets flying with a mid-air refueling jet from New Jersey.

A man who simply wished to be identified as Leonard, a 52-year resident of the area, said he doesn’t believe the government’s explanation that what he and others saw last Sunday night shortly after 9 p.m. was four to six F-16 jets flying with a KC-10 tanker jet.
“They want everyone to think it was fighter jets,” Leonard said. “I know what I saw wasn’t.”
Leonard told LevittownNow.com he was outside his Middletown Township home walking the dog when he saw the KC-10 coming towards his house. With his wife nearby, they watched the plane and six “totally round” objects, each with several lights and about the size of a pickup truck fly around the large jet.

“I’ve never seen anything like that before,” he explained to a reporter. “It couldn’t be man made. There was no noise and they were too close to the plane. I was shocked.”
Leonard said he saw the plane bank and a light on the side briefly illuminated the round object.
“There’s no way they didn’t see those things from the cockpit.”

The plane and the objects flew off toward New Jersey to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, Leonard said.
A week later when a military official returned his call they reported what he saw was F-16s escorting the KC-10 at around 3,000 feet above sea level. LevittownNow.com received the same information via a military spokesperson last week. They said the data came from a sergeant who was an airspace manager.
Leonard noted that less than an hour after the phone call from the base, several F-16s escorting a KC-10 were seen flying over the area. He spotted the planes above the corner of Durham Road and New Falls Road. He doesn’t think it is a coincidence either; he said he believes the flight was staged to back up the military’s claim of what happened the previous Sunday.

For Leonard and his wife, the incident was their first encounter with strange lights in the sky.
A LevittownNow.com reader who spoke briefly with a reporter before ending the conversation reported seeing the same “low-flying” planes and surrounding objects that Leonard saw around the same time.
As of press time, LevittownNow.com has not been able to locate any photographs of the formation of objects over the area.
