Neshaminy Teacher Named ‘Educator of the Year’

A Neshaminy High School teacher has been named the 2013 Pennsylvania Business Education Association Business Educator of the Year.

Janet Dougherty, the business department chairperson, was nominated by her colleagues and voted by a state board committee to be this year’s recipient of the award.

Dougherty serves as an advisory to the high school’s award winning Furture Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Club and serves on advisory committee. She has partnered with “community businesses, financial institutions and colleges to bring real-world academic experiences into the classroom.,” the district said in a press release.

The honor was bestowed to Dougherty, a teacher at Neshaminy for 16 years, at a conference on November 22 in Harrisburg.
