Just minutes after police ended a roughly 2-hour-long standoff with a man in Red Cedar, a Jeep with five teens crashed, overturned and ejected two of them less than a half-mile away.

The crash happened at 5:05 p.m. just past the intersection of New Falls Road and Wistar Road in Bristol Township.

All the teens were rushed to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown. Sgt. Chuck Burns said all of the injured, even the ejected, were conscious after the crash.

Burns said the teens noticed the vehicle in front of the them stopped, and the Jeep swerved in an effort to avoid the car.

New Falls Road was closed for about an hour after the crash, which local firefighter and fire police responded to.

Glass and debris littered the roadway as emergency crews worked to clear the scene.

The Jeep was pushed from the road just before 6 p.m. New Falls Road was opened a few minutes later.
