Stuff the Bus Drive to Help Hundreds of Kids

Due to the generous support of Bucks County residents, about 300 students will have backpacks full of school supplies for the first day of classes.

The United Way of Bucks County’s Stuff the Bus collection drive took place on Tuesday and Wednesday. By Thursday, volunteers were already packing the back-to-school necessities into backpacks.

Organizers saw turnout at both lower and central Bucks County drop-off and distribution locations.

“When [volunteers] pack the bags, they think of the kid it’s going  to,” Danielle Bush, community impact assistant for United Way of Bucks County, said. “Pink goes with pink for a girl. It’s personal.”

Leftover donations that did not fit in school bags will be donated to local schools and agencies for kids.
