Bristol Township School District Superintendent Dr. Samuel Lee released a letter to the community this week on the tragic passing of two students and their mother. The family members were killed in a Lawrence, N.J. traffic crash.
Good Afternoon Bristol Township School District Community,
It is with profound regret and great sadness that we received the news of the tragic accident Friday night that claimed the lives of Ms. Jamella Tisdale and her sons, 3 month old Jaden Tisdale and 9 year old Jaevon Durante. Injured in this accident were Mr. Shaquann Tisdale and Mellady Durante.
Both Jaevon and Mellady are students at our James Buchanan Elementary School.
Jaevon had many friends and was part of a close group of students who had been together since kindergarten. He and his sister Mellady, are an integral part of the Buchanan community.
We understand the challenges brought about by this terrible loss. Tomorrow (Tuesday) our pupil personnel staff will be available for counseling and support to students from 9 am through 4 pm at Buchanan.
I know you join us in extending our heartfelt sympathy to Jaevon, Jaden, and Ms. Tisdale as well as hope and prayers for the recovery of Mellady and Mr. Tisdale.
