A winning Powerball ticket worth $1 million was sold last week at the 7-Eleven gas station combo store at 1205 East Lincoln Highway in Middletown, state lottery officials announced Monday morning.

The owner of the ticket has not yet come forward.

Store manager Darlene Losch, a Morrisvile resident, said she got the news that the winning ticket was sold at the store at about 9 a.m. on Monday.

According to lottery officials, the winning ticket correctly matched all five white balls – 21-24-36-42-45 – but not the red Powerball 15.

Customers streamed in and out of the store just after noon. Many saw a sign on the front door announcing the exciting news. Inside, store employees and 7-Eleven customers spoke with television news crews.

Once the word of the win got out at around 10 a.m., Losch said the store saw an uptick in lottery ticket sales.

“It’s been a good day here,” Losch said with a smile.

The store will get a $5,000 check for selling the winning ticket.

Lottery officials said they are not able to confirm the winner until prize is claimed and the ticket is validated. Winners of the Powerball have one year from the drawing date to claim their prize.

Losch said the store has their “regular” ticket purchasers but also sells a lot of tickets to those who are just commuting past and stop in.

The upcoming Powerball jacket drawing, which will be held Wednesday at 11 p.m., has a jackpot of $400.

In December, Levittown News & Tabacco owner Rakesh “Rocky” Raina sold a Powerball ticket worth $33 million to Bristol Township resident Roger Custer.
