Tullytown Police Increasing Traffic Enforcement Along Main Street

Tullytown police will be stepping up their traffic enforcement along Main Street in the borough following a string of complaints from neighbors.

Acting Police Chief Daniel Doyle said his officers will be conducting increased commercial motor vehicle safety checks along the the roadway.

He said residents have raised concerns about trucks speeding through the two-way street and scratching their brakes at intersections.

“We’ve had an uptick in complaints,” Doyle said. He added that he is not certain what has created the recent increase in complaints.

Officers will hold details along the roadway to check for speeding vehicles and will also conduct truck inspections if necessary. Doyle said officers from surrounding departments are called to assist with truck inspections, which requires a special certification.
