Bucks County Court of Common Pleas  Judge  John  J. Rufe ruled today voted that were credited to Democratic mayoral candidate Pat Sabatini were “mistakenly entered” as Democratic votes, when they should have counted as Republican write- in votes moments ago.

A recount was initiated in front of the judge by-election official  Donald Harbina, who then told, Rufe “It appears that Mr Sabatini won” with the write- in recount.

Totals were Sabatini with 35 write- in votes.  24 for  Jim Lebo and Mayor Joe Saxon had ten (including variations counted)  elections officials said.

As a result Sabatini will go forward in his effort to become mayor of Bristol Borough in the  November General Election.

“The system works,” he said.

“After the July 4th weekend, I plan on stepping up my  campaign efforts twice as much as I did in the primary,” Sabatini told LevittownNow.com.

The petition, filed on behalf of Sabatini by Lou Hornstine of  Hornstine, Pelloni, and Hornstine, LLC, argued write-in votes on the Republican side were not tallied correctly for Sabatini because of human error or fraud.

Hornstine said “We are ecstatic that the legal process worked and the Pat Sabatini was declared the nominee We feel confident that in a two -way race Pat will become the mayor of Bristol Borough.”

Bob Lebo, who lost the democratic  primary said he “would support Sabatini  and was glad we had due process.”

Joe Saxon,  winner on the Democratic side in the May primary, said,  “I had no expectations except to come out here except the integrity of the election is held.”

“The judge was fair,” he said.

Sabatini asked if he’s going to change any of his positions on issues now that he’s a Republican candidate said: “I am very happy to be endorsed and get the republican party endorsement.”
