The injured firefighter suffered an unknown medical emergency and was transported by ambulance, officials said. He was able to come out of the blazing house under his own power, they added.
The fire marshal said 911 operators at the call center in Ivyland did a “fantastic job” getting the two residents out of the home. Authorities arrived to find a male residents with singed hair.
Firefighters arrived to the 10 block of Goldenridge Drive to find heavy fire shooting from the two-story Levittown home. Officials said crews were quickly able to knockdown the blaze.

“It went up so fast,” across-the-street neighbor Jeanie Battista posted on the LevittownNow.com Facebook page.
Dippolito said he is focusing his investigation on an electrical outlet in a upstairs bedroom. He added that the lightening storm which was impacting the area at the time of the fire may have played a role.

Heavy rain forced the smoke from the fire to stay low to the ground and fill the neighborhood with smoke, Dippolito said.
Several area fire companies along with the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad and Penndel-Middletown Rescue Squad responded.
